Panning Family Band
|
A passion for creating exciting musical arrangements as well as the desire to perform together is the inspiration for the Pannings to form their string band, FiddleFire. This group specializes in a variety of music including classical to driving fiddle tunes. Their diverse instrumentation includes fiddles, guitar, string bass, mandolin, hammer dulcimer, and percussion via spoons, bones, djembe, and Eve’s dancing feet.
Teen siblings, Luke, Eve, and Josiah all began classical instruction in strings and piano at age 6. In addition, folk musicians and fiddlers mentored and taught improvisation skills. The classical, Appalachian, Celtic, and folk music roots of their childhood all have contributed to their own unique blend and style.
We play for established dances, as well as community dances, contra, and square dances. We also do activities for church groups, wedding receptions, corporate parties, and any group wanting to do something different and have fun! Roween also does dance calling and teaches dance.
